The Tradition is the annual celebration of sports in Boston and a fundraising gala unlike any other. Since 2002, The Sports Museum has been privileged to honor a host of sports legends at the event, including Bill Russell, Ted Williams, David Ortiz, Martina Navratilova, Jack Nicklaus, Lawyer Milloy, Pedro Martinez, Red Auerbach, Larry Bird, Ray Bourque, Doug Flutie, Cam Neely, Aly Raisman, John Hannah, Nancy Kerrigan, Chante Bonds, Shaquille O’Neal, and many more! The Class of 2024 is a fitting continuation of that line.
The night will start with a cocktail reception on the arena floor where guests can mix and mingle with one another while enjoying an open bar and great food. Following the cocktail reception, there will be a talk-show-style program where all honorees will share in-depth and personal stories about their careers that you will not hear anywhere else.
Please know that your donations and support will benefit a great cause —The Sports Museum and our two educational programs, Boston vs. Bullies and Stand Strong are needed now more than ever. We invite you to take part in support.

The Sports Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational institution housed in the TD Garden that has served Boston and New England for more than 40 years.
At The Sports Museum, we celebrate the character of Boston sports — the unique brand of teamwork, determination, responsibility, courage, fairness, and other qualities of character possessed by our teams and athletes that make Boston “The Greatest Sports City in America.” Equally important, we use this distinctly rich heritage to help build character in kids so that they can stand strong in the face of drugs, violence, and other dangers.
