The Sports Museum consists of a half-mile of exhibits at the TD Garden, the home of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.  The exhibits celebrate the history and the character of Boston sports, including not only the Bruins and Celtics but also the Patriots, Red Sox, Boston Marathon, Title IX, and a whole lot more.

During your visit to The Sports Museum, our Museum Assistants will bring you on a one hour guided tour to Level 9, the top floor of TD Garden, where you will be eye level with the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics championship banners.  You will also be guided through The Sports Museum, which is located on the Premium Levels 5 & 6 of TD Garden.  Here you will see the treasures that we have on display evidencing the rich heritage of Boston sports.

In the offseason ONLY, which starts when both the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics seasons are over and lasts through Labor Day, our tour guides will provide you with a “behind-the-scenes” tour of TD Garden that involves special glimpses of the arena floor, the visiting team locker room, and other parts of the arena that the public doesn’t get to see by bringing you down to Level 3 of TD Garden. Also, you will be brought into the marshaling area next to the arena floor to give you a sense on how a working arena operates, switching from ice to parquet to concerts. Please note, this part of the tour is not guaranteed daily due to The Sports Museum’s limited access to the arena floor, marshaling area, and locker room areas during TD Garden events and construction.

WE FOLLOW TD GARDEN SECURITY PROCEDURES. GUESTS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT BAGS, BACKPACKS, LUGGAGE, LAPTOPS, COOLERS, PARCELS, BRIEFCASES AND LIKE ARTICLES WILL BE STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM THE FACILITY.
PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL TD GARDEN GUIDELINES.

Private VIP Tours

Looking for a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other in Boston?  We are proud to offer Private VIP Tours for your corporate group or family outing of any size!

Our Private VIP Tours offer a customized, private tour with Curator Richard Johnson or Associate Curator Brian Codagnone (based on availability), the two individuals responsible for The Sports Museum’s collection and exhibits. This means your group will travel through Levels 5, 6, and 9 while receiving in-depth stories about our artifacts and exhibits that you cannot hear from anyone else.

If your group is interested in learning more about the history of one team over another, or about TD Garden itself, a Private VIP Tour is the only option that allows your group to do exactly that.

These Private VIP Tours are great to include into your corporate events, social events, and family parties.  We work closely with TD Garden to provide you with all your venue, food & beverage, A/V, and entertainment needs.

Pricing: $25/person

**Weekend Private VIP Tours are limited due to availability. Please try to book Private VIP Tours on weekdays as chances of availability are higher.

**Please book your Private VIP Tour at least two weeks in advance BUT no more than 2 months out. We cannot guarantee to booking a Private VIP Tour in more than 2 months due to TD Gardens scheduling of events.
