Will McDonough Writing Contest

The Will McDonough Writing Contest, named in honor of the legendary Boston Globe sportswriter, takes place every year. In 2018, over 900 students from across New England participated in the contest. The winners are chosen by Globe Sports Editor, Joe Sullivan.

The first place winners were honored in a Ceremony at TD Garden hosted by legendary sportscaster, Butch Stearns, which featured appearances and speeches from Will McDonough's daughter, Erin McDonough, ESPN Senior Writer Jackie MacMullan, The Sports Museum Executive Director, Rusty Sullivan, and Celtics President of Communications, Christian Megliola.

The contest is open to all students in grades 4 through 12.
