The Sports Museum Tour

The Sports Museum consists of a half-mile of exhibits at the TD Garden, the home of the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. The exhibits celebrate the history and the character of Boston sports, including the teams that play in TD Garden and the others that make Boston the envy of the sports world.

During your visit to The Sports Museum, our Museum Assistants will guide you through The Sports Museum, which is located on the Premium Levels 5 & 6 of TD Garden. Here you will see the treasures that we have on display evidencing the rich heritage of Boston sports and the influence of sports on the social history and evolution of Boston.

Tours leave on the hour (i.e. 10AM, 11AM, etc.) from 10AM - 4PM with the last tour leaving at 3PM and lasts for approximately one hour. Please note there is a maximum capacity of 18 visitors per tour, so please check-in at the Sports Museum Information Desk (located outside the ProShop on Level 2) 15 -20 minutes before the start of the tour.

** The Sports Museum Tour is not guaranteed daily due to TD Garden events and construction.

Please check website and social media accounts before your visit.

Private VIP Tours

Looking for a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other in Boston?  We are proud to offer Private VIP Tours for your corporate group or family outing of any size!

Our Private VIP Tours offer a customized, private tour with Curator Richard Johnson or Associate Curator Brian Codagnone (based on availability), the two individuals responsible for The Sports Museum’s collection and exhibits. This means your group will travel through Levels 5 and 6 while receiving in-depth stories about our artifacts and exhibits that you cannot hear from anyone else.

If your group is interested in learning more about the history of one team over another, or about TD Garden itself, a Private VIP Tour is the only option that allows your group to do exactly that.

These Private VIP Tours are great to include into your corporate events, social events, and family parties.  We work closely with TD Garden to provide you with all your venue, food & beverage, A/V, and entertainment needs.

Pricing: $25/person

VIP Tours are currently unavailable and resume in October 2019.

Field Trip Tours

Is your school, afterschool program, summer camp, or nonprofit organization looking to provide your kids with a fun, interactive field trip? Take them to The Sports Museum!

The Sports Museum offers Field Trip Tours during our regular business hours at a discounted rate for schools, afterschool programs, summer camps, and nonprofits. Field Trip Tours take approximately 75 minutes and are customized to your group’s needs and interests.

**Please note, Field Trip Tours require 1 chaperone for every 10 students. All chaperones will be admitted free of charge.

For more information, contact Maria Kangas at mkangas@sportsmuseum.org. Field Trip Tours MUST be booked at least two weeks in advance. Due to capacity limitations, we no longer allow groups with more than 35 people. For groups larger than this, if the schedule allows, we are happy to book two back-to-back sessions to split the group into more manageable numbers.

We are no longer booking tours due to construction taking place in TD Garden from June 1, 2019 to October 1, 2019.
